A Sampling of Representative Cases:

  • Successfully argued in the Court of Appeal high profile case sustaining trial court’s ruling involving elder abuse and the revocation of power of attorney. 
  • Successfully argued case where decedent was exhumed for the purpose of determining whether or not decedent was a victim of physical elder abuse.  Based on our motion, medical examiner determined presence of broken bones and brain injury questioning decedent’s previous capacity to contract.
  • Successfully represented children of entertainer in trust contest regarding million dollar painting.
  • Represented conservetee wife in reversal of trial court decision on appeal and assisted in revision to Family Law and Probate Codes as a result of case.
  • Represented Native American Indians in many cases involving in conservatorship proceedings.
  • Represented decedent’s estate (consisting of law practice, multiple pieces of real property, stocks and bonds) of husband who died from self-inflicted wound and accused of murdering wife ; negotiated wrongful death action and prenuptial agreement in order for assets to go to decedent’s children.
  • Successfully prosecuted unscrupulous financial planner and real estate investor who convinced several elderly homeowners to transfer title to their home in exchange for financial planning.
  • Achieved favorable settlement for a widow who brought a will contest against her husband’s children who procured a new will a day before her husband died.
  • Successfully prosecuted a caregiver for financial elder abuse who married an elderly man suffering from end-stage Alzheimers.
  • Numerous appointments by the Probate Court to represent minors and dependent adults recover assets that have been stolen by unscrupulous individuals.
  • Frequently represent the elderly in capacity hearings, such as in conservatorship proceedings.
  • Frequently represent family members seeking mental health conservatorships for loved ones, and represent individuals facing mental health issues.
